Travels

After completing my foundation I decided to travel. I chose Australia and Nepal. I spent 10 months in Australia seeing the east coast climbing mountains, making digareedoos, learnt how to twirl fire, and most importantly continued my art.

I felt absorbed of life and my creativity poured through me. Although when I came back to the UK I worked in PR and various other jobs I was still painting the whole time, I just felt I needed to learn about the world other people live in. This knowledge is incredibly beneficial it is only now in 2001 that I am strong enough to pursue my dream, only problem with that is that reality gets in the way, as temping has become a source of income.

My work is a surreal view of my life; the picture changes as I change. My work has a mystical quality and I delve not only into my own subconscious but into the unknown of what is considered illusion. I use my knowledge of Greek Mythology and various plays which I have read through my life to help me with imagery. I am inspired by artists like Munch, Schiele and Klimt, along with writers such as Oscar Wilde, Lewis Carroll etc. I also use music to enhance my work. I am inspired by John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, and others

I work solely alone and my imagination comes to life on paper,
for this ability I am greatful.
