About BIRDSEY
I am Alfred Birdseys' grandson.
If you have questions related to his art, I would be happy to answer them.
My mother is Antoinette Birdsey-Davis and my aunt is Joe-Anne Birdsey-Lindburg.
Both of them also painted and had watercolours for sale at the studio for some
time.

(Thank you, Mike, for your offer of information to all these fans of your grandfather. -Li Gardiner)
we lived up the road from birdsey in bermuda during 1982 & 1983. we have several
pieces, and all of my contemporaries have his work as well. friends of ours
befriended him and were "adopted" as his grandchildren. they have several choice
pieces and many lesser pieces.
because we know the man, and we know the scenes (the road to work, the hamilton
harbor looking over at my office building, the cottage down the hill from ours)
we would not be interested in selling. i do not think they are very valuable
financially, but they provide great psychic reward.
Cheers, mates! little bo pig,

He was a great water color painter who passed away in 1996, his daughter still paints and runs the studio..... Greg Daudelin, July 16, 2001
Birdsey is an irrascible, talented old gentleman who does wonderful watercolors
of Bermuda. The day I met him he was complaining about the humidity and what
it was doing to his pictures--"Look at this! I can't paint on this! It's like
toilet paper!" If you run into him, you'll never forget him.
I believe he is still the Artist Laureate of Bermuda. Check Fodor's for a nice
concise bio. Kim, May 05, 2000
Are you looking in fact for Birdsey, of whom there was a father and still is a daughter, both painters. Try guidebooks. Possible your source is illegible? Annie Shaver-Crandell, July 30, 1999

HIS WORK
I was in the Bermuda Police Force in the early 1960's and when my wife and
I returned to the UK we brought with us 5 Birdsey Watercolours - we are also
trying to locate other Birdsey material - perhaps we can share information if
and when any comes to light.
With best wishes, Keith Hatfield,

Back in November I was talking with an art dealer you advised that from time
to time people bring him Birdsey's to sell. He had a few back then. I believe
the price range is between U.S.$1500-2000. Please let me know if you are interested
and how many you want,I will be more then happy to contact him and enquire about
availability. If no interest, please let me know that also.
