Artist Resource Staffing Agreement 

Dear Staff Member -

Welcome to the Artist Resource team. You are in great company! Your fellow staff members are artists, designers, writers, programmers, teachers, agents and other professionals.
      By this time, information about your staff position may have been emailed to you. You may even have started working on your job. But you must still print out this letter, sign it and return it. You should keep one copy for yourself.

I want to thank you again for volunteering your time. I know how precious it is. I look forward to promoting your work, and believe that your involvement with Artist Resource will benefit you in other ways. As our site better serves the art community, it will become a better resource for us as well. We will be the first to hear of important opportunities, and will be able to use our projects as springboards to other work.

Guidelines and Commitment

Benefits  As a volunteer Artist Resource Staff member, you will earn web pages on the Artist Resource site, depending on your level of commitment. To take advantage of the web page offer, you must be an Artist or Writer. Your web pages will display your work and include your resume, and will remain online for the length of your staff commitment.
     You will learn a great deal about the Internet, the Bay Area art community, networking and self-promotion through your participation. If job referrals or other opportunities come through, they will be made available to you. We sometimes get discounts at art supply stores, photographers and other services for our staff and member artists and writers.

Credits You will be credited on the site, and will get letters of recommendation, depending on your performance.

Qualifications   You must know how to access the Internet and use basic email functions. Some staff jobs require more expertise. You must be able to handle your job from your location.

Commitment You agree to staff Artist Resource for at least six months. Most positions involve brief or intermittent tasks, and it may take you this long to really assess your job and the organization. For the sake of continuity, we need to know you’ll stick with it for this period. You are welcome to continue to be involved for as long as you wish, at any level you wish.

Teamwork You will actively support other Staff members, asking for assistance when you need it, offering it when you can. When you move on to other endeavors, you will explain your job to your replacement and preserve a sense of continuity. You will send a brief weekly report to the Staff Director.

Email You will sign all Artist Resource-related email with your title, the Artist Resource name, and the Artist Resource URL (Internet address)     http://www.artistresource.org

Subscriber Protection    You agree not to sell, reveal or otherwise distribute the subscriber mailing list to anyone, ever.

Site Security     If you have password access to the site, you agree not to reveal that password to anyone. If you discover that the password has been accidentally given to or copied by an unauthorized person, you will immediately inform the webmistress so that the password can be changed. You also agree to access the site only on days previously scheduled by agreement with the webmistress.

Copyright Restrictions All information and images on the Artist Resource site are copyrighted by Li Gardiner, or used with the permission of the artists and writers who hold the copyrights, for the purpose of reporting news, promotion, or education. You will respect the copyrights of the artists and authors whose work appears on the site, by agreeing not to copy, distribute or sell any information or images from the site, unless authorized or required by your staff job.
