With the advent of the Internet came an opportunity for self-representing artists to market their work. It can be tedious, some days even fruitless. But one artist’s pursuit of on-line marketing started from the streets of New York, made it’s way into the New York Times, then to an exhibition in Helsinki, Finland, after that to an art gallery in Miami's Design District and most recently to the pages of Believery, a book of art-writing. Miami artist Tony Wynn made it up along the way, perhaps an artistry that reaches beyond canvas. He left corporate marketing a little over 10 years ago to pursue his path, which led to his own artistry as a painter and poet. And from his experience has developed a series of artist services programs designed to help emerging artists find opportunities for their art.

World's Largest Art Project

My name is Andrea Anderson (aka D. Violet Butterfly). I am a physically challenged artist working on developing the world's largest/longest art project. I invite artists and other creative people from around the world to help me. My goal is to remind people that we are all connected and that even the smallest things we do add to the big picture, while breaking records and boundaries as only art can. I intend to get as many artists and creative people involved as possible.

Each artist that participates will receive 2 X 9 (or more) inches of canvas to create a piece of original artwork. Once each artist returns their section, I will create one inch puzzle pieces from that art to add to my own pieces in order to create the world’s largest piece of art/puzzle, revealing that every little thing adds up to the big picture. In order to do this, to set a world record for the for largest painting/art project my goal is for the painting to reach over 1,115 ft X 6.5 ft (340 meters X 2 meters) or over 43,485 inches X 2 inches. I need over 25,297 people and for it to reach the world record for the largest puzzle --it needs to be over 18,000 one inch puzzle pieces. I will give each artist credit for their work and if their original pieces are sold I will donate half the profit to the charitable organization of their choice and the other half of the profits will go to the charitable organization of the buyer's choice.

What do the artists get out of this?
Credit for your work. I am documenting every part of this project.
Freedom of art and for your artist voice to be heard
Be part of the biggest picture of them all.
Satisfaction that what you do will help affect our world.
You could also be a part of three World Records.
Each artist will be given two pieces of the puzzle. One to keep and one to give to someone that they are connected to.

If you know of any other people or groups that would like to become involved, or would be interested in contributing supplies or anything else, please let me know.

Seeking Artists to Design frames

My company makes wireless digital picture frames, and we offer custom frames at a premium. I have requests for dozens of such frames, and need to find artists willing to build frames if I give them a specific set of dimensions for the attachment points. its all custom work, for example I've been asked to do a frame in the style of a brushed aluminum Macintosh, gothic, a european look, fur, etc etc.. and I'd like to commission a few to feature on our website as well as putting a few into production.

We are a small startup bay area business that has been really successful, and we want to use it as a creative outlet for artists. We are going to be featured in lots of magazines in the very near future, and are selling pretty much everything in our business that isnt nailed down!
You can see what we do at http://www.wallflower-systems.com

Artist in Residence Program at the Dump - San Francisco
Our mission is to inspire the public to conserve resources by providing an artist with the opportunity to make art, instead of landfill from materials they gather from San Francisco’s garbage and recycling facilities. What would you do with 2,700 tons of trash each day? The residency provides 24-hour access to the recycling facilities, a large well-equipped art studio, monthly stipend, and your own show. Most residencies are full-time for three months.

The artist in residence works full-time in the company’s art studio, greets tour groups (usually 3rd and 4th grade school kids), creates a body of art work worthy of a show, and gives three pieces of art to the company. (Part-time residencies are also available, stipend is pro-rated, and you have to share the studio with another part-timer.)
An advisory board made up of artists and environmentalists selects 3-4 artists per year.
For professional artists only. You must reside in the Bay Area. The studio is not for the squeamish. It is dusty, noisy and smelly; therefore, we require applicants to visit our studio before they apply.
Location = To learn more or to receive an application, call 330-1415 or visit http://www.norcalwaste.com
