Art Net
One subscriber highly recommends art.net, a cooperative based in San Jose.
Artist members are responsible for the design and maintenance, etc., of their
pages, but there is help available through various discussion groups, (Art
& Law, help on designing pages, announcements, general discussion of
art & tech, etc.) It costs $60 a year for an artist to maintain an online
studio or for someone to curate an online "gallery" show.
Art Depot
Brent, the site owner, says, "I am not interested in making money from the
site at this point. I only want to expand the site and increase its

Each year the first 12 artists who submit [publishable] stories to Artist
Resource will become Featured Artists. There will be one Featured
Artist per month. Each Featured Artist will get 5 pieces of artwork displayed

openings, when you can only use 100 or so? Why print 200 lithographs rather
than "onesy-twosy" giclées, as you need them?

PERL and JAVA in the classes offered at Center for Electronic Art. Also ask
about tutoring, which might get you started and cost less. As a student,
you can get space for your page on their site and upload changes from your
own computer. They have also rented space to non-students. You can rent computers
